Hotel in Mendoza.
For your staying in our city, we have chosen a three stars class hotel. In full center of our city, at just one and half block from the Tourism Direction, where we’ll buy the climbing permits, and at only 100 meters from the typical pedestrian stroll of the most beautiful city in the country.

Here we’ll stay two night, one in the arrival to Mendoza and another when we return from the mountain.
The rooms are double with breakfast and taxes included.
If you wish a single room, don’t forget to warn us.

Of course, we also expect that you come visit our commercial office at only a couple of blocks from your hotel, to give us the chance to wish you success in the adventure that we are starting together.

Assistance to buy the climbing ticket.
The Aconcagua mount is inside a National Park, managed by the Provincial Government of Mendoza.

To get in the Park we should obtain a permit, in accordance to the activity to develop. The Government stablish that the tramit must be realized only in a personal way (see detail of values in "Useful information in our web site").

Therefore we’ll scort you to the office, to help you in the filling of the application for admission.

Welcome lunch and farewell dinner.
It’s always a pleasure for the host to give a good welcome.
And in the end, we won’t stop celebrating the link nature will certainly create.

Transfer from Mendoza to Puente del Inca.
Relax, we’ll pick you up from your hotel to take you to Puente Del Inca.
I our own vehicles for the transportation of passengers, we’ll go over the 180 kilometers that separates Mendoza city from Puente Del Inca. In that way we are going to witness one of the most spectacular landscapes in the central Andes.

In the return, we’ll leave you back in the hotel ate in Mendoza city.

Assistance for the arrangement of loads to be transport by mules.
And when you ask what, how and where to take your things, our guides will be there advising you for a better comfort.

Lodging in Puente Del Inca.
In times of the Inca Empire its name was an strategic point for the crossing of the Andes.
In the last 80 years it has become the departure point of every expedition in search for the summit.

Here it’s been built the hostel of Puente Del Inca, the only tourists lodging in this important zone, and at just two kilometers to the entrance of the Aconcagua Park.
Today we feel proud to be the responsible enterprise for its working, offering the best services to the expeditions from all around the world.
Here we’ll spend two night (one in out and one in back) in rooms for three to six persons (according to the final number of members in the group) and with private toilet.
We have not forgotten to include a complete breakfast and unforgettable dinners in the hostel’s restaurant.

Transfer to the entrance of the Aconcagua park.
From our hostel in Puente Del Inca we must go over 5 kilometers by the international road until the first range station, where our permits are going to be checked and we’ll get a talk about the working of the park.
To that place we go in the Arrieros pick up, saving us from a long walk.

Load mules.
This strong animal was the main mean of transport for the armies that fought for the freedom of South America. The mules move with great caution in mountain ground, and there hard contexture allow them to carry equipment without any problem.

Aymará Expeditions® counts with more than 100 mules for the transport of loads and people.

The negative side of this animals is there untamed character. That’s why we have a big team of persons who have dedicated their lives to the country of animals, The Arrieros. They understand and handle, for family tradition, the work with these animals.

From Puente Del Inca to Confluencia and from here to Plaza de Mulas, our loads will be transported by mules. Each mule can carry a top of 60kg, and every passenger has the right to transport a
maximum of 30kg in each part of the way.

We recommend to bring a duffle bag to cover your luggage in the animals.

Camp in Confluencia.
The trekking to our Base Camp acts like a transition area. During the approach to the height, the body needs a certain time to light up the biological mechanisms that helps to acclimatize.

Therefor we find of vital importance to stop two night in an intermediate height, to give our body the activity and the time to begin the acclimatization process.

During that time we will Camp in our own campament, which has the comfort to spend a good time, and equipped with wide dinner tents, electrical light, table and banks, full dinner set and the kindness of our people.

Trekking to Plaza Francia.
On day 4 in our program we’ll go to the base of the mythical South Face of the Aconcagua. This is the most vertical face of the mountain, and with almost 3000 meters of unlevel to dazzle us with a show of glaciers walls.
During that trekking we will reach 4000 meters. That will give to our body a unmistakable sign to light the acclimatization process.

All the meals.
From day 2 in our expedition to the return to Mendoza all the meals are included.
We make reference to a breakfast, lunch or a box lunch, if it’s a day of activity, and dinner.
From day 3 in the program where we get in the mountain, the meals are with a fixed menu.
Every meal is always prepared for our cooks, except for the high altitude camps and the two days of the approach to the base camp, where our guides will be in charge to prepare the meals that we are carefully planed.

The shelter of Plaza de Mulas.
It’s an important construction of metal and wood that provides the service of a mountain shelter, hosting expeditions from all around the world, and serving good meals in the restaurant.

We will spend five night in the shelter, using type "C" rooms: a great room to share among the group, with beds, mattresses, blankets and pillows.
The toilets are public and open to every person lodged in the shelter.
This service includes the possibility to take one hot shower during the stay in the shelter, and if you wish some more you can pay for them in the same place.
Remember that the meals will be served in the shelter’s restaurant.

Trekking to the Horcones glacier.
Acclimatization is a dynamic process, in which our body needs a minimal activity to increase the response.
We think that in the resting day in the base camp, a short trek in the area of Plaza de Mulas is useful. In that ride we will have an introduction class about haw to use the crampons and other things to consider in moves on the altitude.

Communications.
We count with fix points in all the mountain. A link that we use to stay connected by VHF and BLU radio between the high camps, Plaza Argentina, Plaza de Mulas, Confluencia, Puente Del Inca and Mendoza. Therefor we can response to any contingency in an almost instantaneously way.

Luggage care.
If during the travel you wish to leave things that you think you won’t need in the days to come, you can leave them in our office in Mendoza, our hostel in Puente Del Inca, or the Base Camp shelter in Plaza de Mulas.

Portage to the altitude camps.
The Aconcagua has slowly taken importance of a figure born in the Himalayas, "the porter". Generally they are very strong people, and most of them have climb to the top in many opportunities, and there answer to the altitude is much better than in a regular athlete.

In Aymará expeditions we believe that their work to transport the material in common for the expedition, that includes: tents, kitchen sets, altitude food, fuel, stoves, ropes and the garbage produced for the group, helps the members to move with less weight between the camps, to keep the focusing of energies infor the summit day.

Therefor our expeditions includes every 3 or 4 persons a porter, with the capability to carry 20 kilos in each trip.
The porters will help us in the following material movements: from camp1 to Camp 2, and from camp 3 to Plaza de Mulas.
In day 7 of the program we will transport the equipment to Camp 1 among all of the members of the expeditions from Plaza de Mulas.

During day 12, the resting day in camp Nido de Cóndores, one of our guide will transport the needed equipment for the remaining days to camp 3.
The personal gear must be transported by yourself, but if you wish to hire a porter, don’t forget to consult us.

Tents.
Aconcagua usually has good summer weather. But if we meet his storm days, in that moment we will know that the power of nature in that heights is incommensurable, That is why we provide our expeditions with the best high quality tents for the altitude camps. We use brands that have prove an excellent performance through the years, such as Marmot and The North Face.
The accommodation in the high altitude tents is for two people, but in case of need and according to the guide’s judgement, they will be able to fit a top of three people.

Extra days.
Our expedition counts with two extra days in case of contingencies that prevent the normal development of the program in the altitude camps.
Aymará takes responsibility for developing the program as it has been described.
However, situations of mayor strength out of our good will, may occur, leaving the right to modificate the program in the judgement of our guides, if the circumstances and the safety of the group requires it, without any right of indemnification for the passenger.

Our guides.
Our mountain guides are professionals with titles of a AAGM and the EPGAMT.
The expeditions counts with the leaderships of one high mountain guide and one assistant every 3 or 4 passengers.
Besides the normal gear, the guides transport in their equipment: VHF radio, a complete first aid kit with specific medicines for the high altitude sickness, rope, altimeter, digital oximeter and professional equipment and clothing.
