telephones work with cards, which are tokens purchased in kiosks and the offices
of the telephone companies, or with legal tender coins. There are call boxes
where you can pay in cash (open 24 hours a day).
If you are calling Argentina from outside the country you will need to dial the local international access code, i.e., 011 from the US or 001 from Japan, then [54] for Argentina's country code, followed by the city code and the local telephone number. Some of the codes for major cities in Argentina are: (11) for Buenos Aires, (351) for Córdoba, (341) for Rosario, and (261) for Mendoza.To make a phone call from Argentina to a foreign country you have to dial 00, the country code, the area code of the place you want to call and finally the phone number.
Remember that there are reduced rates from 22.00 to 08.00 hours.
Argentine street addresses list the street name, followed by the building number. Postal codes are three letters and four digits (usually you can use only the numbers) and precede the city name. In listings where all addresses are in the same city, we write the postal code in parentheses following the street address, as in our hotel listings.
